Friday Night Gathering

NAIFC Meet-n-Greet. (5:00 PM-9:00 PM). Meet local fishermen familiar with Hebgen Lake along with nationally ranked ice fishermen. A Social Hour and informal introductory information for people new to ice fishing—and networking with experienced friends who love to ice fish--starts at 5 pm at West Yellowstone Holiday Inn Conference Center (315 Yellowstone Avenue). From there, people can go in groups to local restaurant/taverns to “talk ice fishing” over dinner. These group discussions, which are open to the public, are geared toward introducing and educating fishers to the world of tournament ice fishing.

SIF High School Registration/Rules Meeting (5:00 PM-7:00 PM)

Saturday - January 11, 2020

High School Tournament

The High School teams will be fishing from 7:00AM-Noon, with the weigh-in immediately following at the Marina. That day, tournament participants, including Ice Fishing Pro-Staff, will be be pre-fishing Hebgen Lake, heading out on the ice from the Kirkwood Marina.

Pre-Fishing

Starting around 8:00 am, tournament participants, including Ice Fishing Pro-Staff, will be be pre-fishing Hebgen Lake all morning, heading out on the ice from the Kirkwood Marina.

Saturday Kids Ice Camp

The Kids Ice Camp will start with classroom instruction and demonstration at the Holiday Inn Conference Center at 1:00pm and then on-ice fishing experience at Kirkwood Marina on Hebgen Lake from 2:30 until 3:30pm. The classroom instruction and demonstration will cover ice fishing equipment, techniques, safety, conservation & environmental stewardship. At the Kirkwood Marina everyone heads out onto the ice for demonstrations delivered by experienced, certified NAIFC Pro-Staff instructors.
Before leaving, all kids who participate also will receive a snack and complimentary ice rod.
Make sure to dress warmly including waterproof footwear for this outside event. Parents must accompany their kids during this event. It is an outdoor event, so please dress for the weather.

Saturday Night Mandatory Rules Meeting

Registration for the Tournament runs from 4:30-6:45 pm at the Holiday Inn in West Yellowstone, where the Social Hour begins at 5:00 pm, including a complimentary dinner for all registered team members, with cash bar and Montana spirit tastings available.

The Rules Meeting, which is mandatory for at least one member of each team, starts at 7 pm. At the Rules Meeting, the exact starting time for the contest the following morning will be announced.

Don't miss the Annual Calcutta Fundraiser where you buy your favorite teams-and split the prize pot if they win! The other half of the Calcutta money pool goes to a West Yellowstone non-profit.

Sunday - January 12, 2020

Sunday Morning NAIFC Tournament

The contest starts shortly after daylight with the exact starting time announced at the mandatory Rules Meeting the night before. Teams go out on the ice on Hebgen Lake from Kirkwood Marina in the order of their registration. All teams must be off the ice by 1:05pm for the Weigh-in.

Please be aware that there is private property along the lake’s edge, especially to the immediate west of Kirkwood Marina. No access to the lake for the tournament or for pre-fishing is allowed through private property. Also, please always show courtesy to those lakefront homeowners when fishing Hebgen Lake.

Sunday Indoor Weigh-In and Awards

Weigh-in starts at 3:00 pm at the Holiday Inn Conference Center in West Yellowstone. Tournament and Calcutta winners are announced and awarded their cash prizes immediately following the weigh-in. Cash bar and food will be available for purchase.

NEW! High School Division (No entry fee) Ages 12. Competing for scholarships/grants and trophies.
